| 4. | Israel, your prophets have been like foxes in the waste places. | O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. |

| 5. | You have not gone up into the gaps, neither built up the wall for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of Yahweh. | Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. |
לא עליתם בפרצות ותגדרו גדר על־בית ישראל לעמד במלחמה ביום יהוה׃ |
L'a 'yLYThM BPhUrTShVTh VThGDUrV GDUr 'yL-BYTh YShUr'aL L'yMD BMLChMH BYVM YHVH. | Ye have not gone up into breaches, Nor do ye make a fence for the house of Israel, To stand in battle in a day of Jehovah. | non ascendistis ex adverso neque opposuistis murum pro domo Israhel ut staretis in proelio in die Domini | |||||

הלוא מחזה־שוא חזיתם ומקסם כזב אמרתם ואמרים נאם־יהוה ואני לא דברתי׃ |

| 9. | My hand shall be against the prophets who see false visions, and who divine lies: they shall not be in the council of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh. | And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. |
והיתה ידי אל־הנביאים החזים שוא והקסמים כזב בסוד עמי לא־יהיו ובכתב בית־ישראל לא יכתבו ואל־אדמת ישראל לא יבאו וידעתם כי אני אדני יהוה׃ |

יען וביען הטעו את־עמי לאמר שלום ואין שלום והוא בנה חיץ והנם טחים אתו תפל׃ |
Y'yN VBY'yN HT'yV 'aTh-'yMY L'aMUr ShLVM V'aYN ShLVM VHV'a BNH ChYTSh VHNM TChYM 'aThV ThPhL. | Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk. | eo quod deceperint populum meum dicentes pax et non est pax et ipse aedificabat parietem illi autem liniebant eum luto absque paleis | |||||
| 11. | tell those who daub it with whitewash, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and you, great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it. | Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. |

'aMUr 'aL-TChY ThPhL VYPhL HYH GShM ShVTPh V'aThNH 'aBNY 'aLGBYSh ThPhLNH VUrVCh S'yUrVTh ThBQ'y. | Say to those daubing with chalk -- It falleth, There hath been an overflowing shower, And ye, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind doth rend, | dic ad eos qui liniunt absque temperatura quod casurus sit erit enim imber inundans et dabo lapides praegrandes desuper inruentes et ventum procellae dissipantem | |||||
| 12. | Behold, when the wall has fallen, shall it not be said to you, Where is the daubing with which you have daubed it? | Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? |

VHNH NPhL HQYUr HLV'a Y'aMUr 'aLYKM 'aYH HTYCh 'aShUr TChThM. | And lo, fallen hath the wall! Doth not one say unto you, Where is the daubing that ye daubed? | siquidem ecce cecidit paries numquid non dicetur vobis ubi est litura quam levistis | |||||
| 13. | Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath; and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it. | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. |
לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה ובקעתי רוח־סערות בחמתי וגשם שטף באפי יהיה ואבני אלגביש בחמה לכלה׃ |
LKN KH 'aMUr 'aDNY YHVH VBQ'yThY UrVCh-S'yUrVTh BChMThY VGShM ShTPh B'aPhY YHYH V'aBNY 'aLGBYSh BChMH LKLH. | Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury -- to consume. | propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus et erumpere faciam spiritum tempestatum in indignatione mea et imber inundans in furore meo erit et lapides grandes in ira in consummationem | |||||
| 14. | So will I break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation shall be uncovered; and it shall fall, and you shall be consumed in its midst: and you shall know that I am Yahweh. | So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. |
והרסתי את־הקיר אשר־טחתם תפל והגעתיהו אל־הארץ ונגלה יסדו ונפלה וכליתם בתוכה וידעתם כי־אני יהוה׃ |
VHUrSThY 'aTh-HQYUr 'aShUr-TChThM ThPhL VHG'yThYHV 'aL-H'aUrTSh VNGLH YSDV VNPhLH VKLYThM BThVKH VYD'yThM KY-'aNY YHVH. | And I have broken down the wall that ye daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed hath been its foundation, And it hath fallen, And ye have been consumed in its midst, And ye have known that I am Jehovah. | et destruam parietem quem levistis absque temperamento et adaequabo eum terrae et revelabitur fundamentum eius et cadet et consumetur in medio eius et scietis quia ego sum Dominus | |||||
| 15. | Thus will I accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have daubed it with whitewash; and I will tell you, The wall is no more, neither those who daubed it; | Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; |
וכליתי את־חמתי בקיר ובטחים אתו תפל ואמר לכם אין הקיר ואין הטחים אתו׃ |
VKLYThY 'aTh-ChMThY BQYUr VBTChYM 'aThV ThPhL V'aMUr LKM 'aYN HQYUr V'aYN HTChYM 'aThV. | And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you: The wall is not, And those daubing it are not; | et conplebo indignationem meam in parietem et in his qui linunt eum absque temperamento dicamque vobis non est paries et non sunt qui linunt eum | |||||

| 17. | You, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them, | Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, |
ואתה בן־אדם שים פניך אל־בנות עמך המתנבאות מלבהן והנבא עליהן׃ |
V'aThH BN-'aDM ShYM PhNYK 'aL-BNVTh 'yMK HMThNB'aVTh MLBHN VHNB'a 'yLYHN. | And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who are prophesying out of their own heart, and prophesy concerning them, | et tu fili hominis pone faciem tuam contra filias populi tui quae prophetant de corde suo et vaticinare super eas | |||||
| 18. | and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the women who sew pillows on all elbows, and make kerchiefs for the head of [persons of] every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people, and save souls alive for yourselves? | And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? |
ואמרת כה־אמר אדני יהוה הוי למתפרות כסתות על כל־אצילי ידי ועשות המספחות על־ראש כל־קומה לצודד נפשות הנפשות תצודדנה לעמי ונפשות לכנה תחיינה׃ |
V'aMUrTh KH-'aMUr 'aDNY YHVH HVY LMThPhUrVTh KSThVTh 'yL KL-'aTShYLY YDY V'yShVTh HMSPhChVTh 'yL-Ur'aSh KL-QVMH LTShVDD NPhShVTh HNPhShVTh ThTShVDDNH L'yMY VNPhShVTh LKNH ThChYYNH. | And thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo to those sowing pillows for all joints of the arm, And to those making the kerchiefs For the head of every stature -- to hunt souls, The souls do ye hunt of My people? VQUr'yThY 'aTh-MSPhChThYKM VHTShLThY 'aTh-'yMY MYDKN VL'a-YHYV 'yVD BYDKN LMTShVDH VYD'yThN KY-'aNY YHVH. | And I have torn your kerchiefs, And delivered My people out of your hand, And they are no more in your hand for a prey, And ye have known that I am Jehovah. | et disrumpam cervicalia vestra et liberabo populum meum de manu vestra neque erunt ultra in manibus vestris ad praedandum et scietis quia ego Dominus | |||||
