| 2. | "Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to Yahweh. | Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. |

| 5. | What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather. | 19. | The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. | And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. |

| 27. | then let him reckon the years since its sale, and restore the surplus to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his property. | Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession. |

V'aYSh KY-YMKUr BYTh-MVShB 'yYUr ChVMH VHYThH G'aLThV 'yD-ThM ShNTh MMKUrV YMYM ThHYH G'aLThV. | `And when a man selleth a dwelling-house in a walled city, then hath his right of redemption been until the completion of a year from its selling; days -- is his right of redemption; | qui vendiderit domum intra urbis muros habebit licentiam redimendi donec unus impleatur annus | |||||
| 30. | If it isn't redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations. It shall not be released in the Jubilee. | And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile. |

As a stranger and a sojourner he shall live with you. | And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee. |

| 36. | Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God; that your brother may live among you. | Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee. |

| 37. | You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit. | Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase. |

| 41. | then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers. | And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return. |

| 43. | You shall not rule over him with harshness, but shall fear your God. | Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God. |
לא־תרדה בו בפרך ויראת מאלהיך׃ |

| 44. | "'As for your male and your female slaves, whom you may have; of the nations that are around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves. | Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. |
ועבדך ואמתך אשר יהיו־לך מאת הגוים אשר סביבתיכם מהם תקנו עבד ואמה׃ |

| 45. | Moreover of the children of the strangers who sojourn among you, of them you may buy, and of their families who are with you, which they have conceived in your land; and they will be your property. | Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. |

| 46. | You may make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them may you take your slaves forever: but over your brothers the children of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness. | And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour. |

| 47. | "'If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and your brother beside him has grown poor, and sells himself to the stranger or foreigner living among you, or to a member of the stranger's family; | And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family: |

או־דדו או בן־דדו יגאלנו או־משאר בשרו ממשפחתו יגאלנו או־השיגה ידו ונגאל׃ |
'aV-DDV 'aV BN-DDV YG'aLNV 'aV-MSh'aUr BShUrV MMShPhChThV YG'aLNV 'aV-HShYGH YDV VNG'aL. | or his uncle, or a son of his uncle, doth redeem him, or any of the relations of his flesh, of his family, doth redeem him, or -- his own hand hath attained -- then he hath been redeemed. | et patruus et patruelis et consanguineus et adfinis sin autem et ipse potuerit redimet se | |||||
| 50. | He shall reckon with him who bought him from the year that he sold himself to him to the Year of Jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according to the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him. | And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him. |
וחשב עם־קנהו משנת המכרו לו עד שנת היבל והיה כסף ממכרו במספר שנים כימי שכיר יהיה עמו׃ |
VChShB 'yM-QNHV MShNTh HMKUrV LV 'yD ShNTh HYBL VHYH KSPh MMKUrV BMSPhUr ShNYM KYMY ShKYUr YHYH 'yMV. | `And he hath reckoned with his buyer from the year of his being sold to him till the year of jubilee, and the money of his sale hath been by the number of years; as the days of an hireling it is with him. | supputatis dumtaxat annis a tempore venditionis suae usque ad annum iobeleum et pecunia qua venditus fuerat iuxta annorum numerum et rationem mercennarii supputata | |||||
| 51. | If there are yet many years, according to them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. | If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. |
אם־עוד רבות בשנים לפיהן ישיב גאלתו מכסף מקנתו׃ |

| 52. | If there remain but a few years to the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according to his years of service he shall give back the price of his redemption. | And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption. |
ואם־מעט נשאר בשנים עד־שנת היבל וחשב־לו כפי שניו ישיב את־ גאלתו׃ |

| 53. | As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with harshness over him in your sight. | And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight. |

| 54. | If he isn't redeemed by these means, then he shall be released in the Year of Jubilee, he, and his children with him. | And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him. |
