2. * |
By the Book that makes things clear;-
|
|
And this enlightening scripture.
|
|
والكتاب المبين
|
|
walktab almbyn
|
|
3. * |
We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil).
|
|
We have sent it down in a blessed night, for we are to warn.
|
|
انا انزلناه في ليلة مباركة انا كنا منذرين
|
|
ana anzlnah fy lyl+ mbark+ ana kna mnXryn
|
|
4. * |
In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom,
|
|
In it (the scripture), every matter of wisdom is clarified.
|
|
فيها يفرق كل امر حكيم
|
|
fyha yfrq kl amr Hkym
|
|
5. * |
By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations),
|
|
It is a predetermined command from us that we send messengers.
|
|
امرا من عندنا انا كنا مرسلين
|
|
amra mn `ndna ana kna mrslyn
|
|
6. * |
As Mercy from thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things);
|
|
This is a mercy from your Lord. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.
|
|
رحمة من ربك انه هو السميع العليم
|
|
rHm+ mn rbk anh hw alsmy` al`lym
|
|
7. * |
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith.
|
|
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. If only you could be certain!
|
|
رب السماوات والارض ومابينهما ان كنتم موقنين
|
|
rb alsmawat walarD wmabynhma an kntm mwqnyn
|
|
8. * |
There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors.
|
|
There is no other god beside Him. He controls life and death; your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors.
|
|
لااله الا هو يحيي ويميت ربكم ورب ابائكم الاولين
|
|
laalh ala hw yHyy wymyt rbkm wrb abaYkm alawlyn
|
|
9. * |
Yet they play about in doubt.
|
|
Indeed, they are doubtful, heedless.
|
|
بل هم في شك يلعبون
|
|
bl hm fy $k yl`bwn
|
|
10. * |
Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible,
|
|
Therefore, watch for the day when the sky brings a profound smoke.
|
|
فارتقب يوم تاتي السماء بدخان مبين
|
|
fartqb ywm taty alsma' bdKan mbyn
|
|
11. * |
Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous.
|
|
It will envelope the people; this is a painful retribution.
|
|
يغشى الناس هذا عذاب اليم
|
|
yG$i alnas hXa `Xab alym
|
|
12. * |
(They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"
|
|
"Our Lord, relieve this retribution for us; we are believers."
|
|
ربنا اكشف عنا العذاب انا مؤمنون
|
|
rbna ak$f `na al`Xab ana mWmnwn
|
|
13. * |
How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,-
|
|
Now that it is too late, they remember! An enlightening messenger had come to them.
|
|
انى لهم الذكرى وقد جاءهم رسول مبين
|
|
ani lhm alXkri wqd ja'hm rswl mbyn
|
|
14. * |
Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!"
|
|
But they turned away from him, saying, "Well educated, but crazy!"
|
|
ثم تولوا عنه وقالوا معلم مجنون
|
|
xm twlwa `nh wqalwa m`lm mjnwn
|
|
15. * |
We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways).
|
|
We will relieve the retribution for awhile; you will soon revert.
|
|
انا كاشفوا العذاب قليلا انكم عائدون
|
|
ana ka$fwa al`Xab qlyla ankm `aYdwn
|
|
16. * |
One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution!
|
|
The day we strike the big stroke, we will avenge.
|
|
يوم نبطش البطشة الكبرى انا منتقمون
|
|
ywm nbT$ albT$+ alkbri ana mntqmwn
|
|
17. * |
We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them an apostle most honourable,
|
|
We have tested before them the people of Pharaoh; an honorable messenger went to them.
|
|
ولقد فتنا قبلهم قوم فرعون وجاءهم رسول كريم
|
|
wlqd ftna qblhm qwm fr`wn wja'hm rswl krym
|
|
18. * |
Saying: "Restore to me the Servants of Allah. I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust;
|
|
Proclaiming: "Listen to me, servants of GOD. I am an honest messenger to you."
|
|
ان ادوا الى عباد الله اني لكم رسول امين
|
|
an adwa ali `bad allh any lkm rswl amyn
|
|
19. * |
"And be not arrogant as against Allah. for I come to you with authority manifest.
|
|
And, "Do not transgress against GOD. I bring to you powerful proofs.
|
|
وان لاتعلوا على الله اني اتيكم بسلطان مبين
|
|
wan lat`lwa `li allh any atykm bslTan mbyn
|
|
20. * |
"For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me.
|
|
"I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord, if you oppose me.
|
|
واني عذت بربي وربكم ان ترجمون
|
|
wany `Xt brby wrbkm an trjmwn
|
|
21. * |
"If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me."
|
|
"If you do not wish to believe, then simply leave me alone."
|
|
وان لم تؤمنوا لي فاعتزلون
|
|
wan lm tWmnwa ly fa`tzlwn
|
|
22. * |
(But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin."
|
|
Subsequently, he implored his Lord: "These are wicked people."
|
|
فدعا ربه ان هؤلاء قوم مجرمون
|
|
fd`a rbh an hWla' qwm mjrmwn
|
|
23. * |
(The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued.
|
|
(God said,) "Travel with My servants during the night; you will be pursued.
|
|
فاسر بعبادي ليلا انكم متبعون
|
|
fasr b`bady lyla ankm mtb`wn
|
|
24. * |
"And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned."
|
|
"Cross the sea quickly; their troops will be drowned."
|
|
واترك البحر رهوا انهم جند مغرقون
|
|
watrk albHr rhwa anhm jnd mGrqwn
|
|
25. * |
How many were the gardens and springs they left behind,
|
|
Thus, they left behind many gardens and springs.
|
|
كم تركوا من جنات وعيون
|
|
km trkwa mn jnat w`ywn
|
|
26. * |
And corn-fields and noble buildings,
|
|
Crops and a luxurious life.
|
|
وزروع ومقام كريم
|
|
wzrw` wmqam krym
|
|
27. * |
And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight!
|
|
Blessings that they enjoyed.
|
|
ونعمة كانوا فيها فاكهين
|
|
wn`m+ kanwa fyha fakhyn
|
|
28. * |
Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)!
|
|
All these we caused to be inherited by other people.
|
|
كذلك واورثناها قوما اخرين
|
|
kXlk wawrxnaha qwma aKryn
|
|
29. * |
And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again).
|
|
Neither the heaven, nor the earth wept over them, and they were not respited.
|
|
فما بكت عليهم السماء والارض وماكانوا منظرين
|
|
fma bkt `lyhm alsma' walarD wmakanwa mnZryn
|
|
30. * |
We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment,
|
|
Meanwhile, we saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating persecution.
|
|
ولقد نجينا بني اسرائيل من العذاب المهين
|
|
wlqd njyna bny asraYyl mn al`Xab almhyn
|
|
31. * |
Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors.
|
|
From Pharaoh; he was a tyrant.
|
|
من فرعون انه كان عاليا من المسرفين
|
|
mn fr`wn anh kan `alya mn almsrfyn
|
|
32. * |
And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly,
|
|
We have chosen them from among all the people, knowingly.
|
|
ولقد اخترناهم على علم على العالمين
|
|
wlqd aKtrnahm `li `lm `li al`almyn
|
|
33. * |
And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial
|
|
We showed them so many proofs, which constituted a great test.
|
|
واتيناهم من الايات مافيه بلاء مبين
|
|
watynahm mn alayat mafyh bla' mbyn
|
|
34. * |
As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth:
|
|
The present generations say,
|
|
ان هؤلاء ليقولون
|
|
an hWla' lyqwlwn
|
|
35. * |
"There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again.
|
|
"We only die the first death; we will never be resurrected!
|
|
ان هي الا موتتنا الاولى ومانحن بمنشرين
|
|
an hy ala mwttna alawli wmanHn bmn$ryn
|
|
36. * |
"Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!"
|
|
"Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful."
|
|
فاتوا بابائنا ان كنتم صادقين
|
|
fatwa babaYna an kntm Sadqyn
|
|
37. * |
What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin.
|
|
Are they better than the people of Tubba` and others before them? We annihilated them for their crimes.
|
|
اهم خير ام قوم تبع والذين من قبلهم اهلكناهم انهم كانوا مجرمين
|
|
ahm Kyr am qwm tb` walXyn mn qblhm ahlknahm anhm kanwa mjrmyn
|
|
38. * |
We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport:
|
|
We did not create the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, just to play.
|
|
وماخلقنا السماوات والارض ومابينهما لاعبين
|
|
wmaKlqna alsmawat walarD wmabynhma la`byn
|
|
39. * |
We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand.
|
|
We created them for a specific purpose, but most of them do not know.
|
|
ماخلقناهما الا بالحق ولكن اكثرهم لايعلمون
|
|
maKlqnahma ala balHq wlkn akxrhm lay`lmwn
|
|
40. * |
Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,-
|
|
The Day of Decision awaits them all.
|
|
ان يوم الفصل ميقاتهم اجمعين
|
|
an ywm alfSl myqathm ajm`yn
|
|
41. * |
The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive,
|
|
That is the day when no friend can help his friend in any way; no one can be helped.
|
|
يوم لايغني مولى عن مولى شيئا ولاهم ينصرون
|
|
ywm layGny mwli `n mwli $yYa wlahm ynSrwn
|
|
42. * |
Except such as receive Allah.s Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
|
|
Only those who attain mercy from GOD. He is the Almighty, Most Merciful.
|
|
الا من رحم الله انه هو العزيز الرحيم
|
|
ala mn rHm allh anh hw al`zyz alrHym
|
|
43. * |
Verily the tree of Zaqqum
|
|
Surely, the tree of bitterness -
|
|
ان شجرة الزقوم
|
|
an $jr+ alzqwm
|
|
44. * |
Will be the food of the Sinful,-
|
|
will provide the food for the sinful.
|
|
طعام الاثيم
|
|
T`am alaxym
|
|
45. * |
Like molten brass; it will boil in their insides.
|
|
Like lye, it will boil in the stomachs.
|
|
كالمهل يغلي في البطون
|
|
kalmhl yGly fy albTwn
|
|
46. * |
Like the boiling of scalding water.
|
|
Like the boiling of hellish drinks.
|
|
كغلي الحميم
|
|
kGly alHmym
|
|
47. * |
(A voice will cry: "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire!
|
|
Take him and throw him into the center of Hell.
|
|
خذوه فاعتلوه الى سواء الجحيم
|
|
KXwh fa`tlwh ali swa' aljHym
|
|
48. * |
"Then pour over his head the Penalty of Boiling Water,
|
|
Then pour upon his head the retribution of the Inferno.
|
|
ثم صبوا فوق راسه من عذاب الحميم
|
|
xm Sbwa fwq rash mn `Xab alHmym
|
|
49. * |
"Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour!
|
|
"Taste this; you were so powerful, so honorable."
|
|
ذق انك انت العزيز الكريم
|
|
Xq ank ant al`zyz alkrym
|
|
50. * |
"Truly this is what ye used to doubt!"
|
|
This is what you used to doubt.
|
|
ان هذا ماكنتم به تمترون
|
|
an hXa makntm bh tmtrwn
|
|
51. * |
As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security,
|
|
The righteous will be in a secure position.
|
|
ان المتقين في مقام امين
|
|
an almtqyn fy mqam amyn
|
|
52. * |
Among Gardens and Springs;
|
|
Enjoying gardens and springs.
|
|
في جنات وعيون
|
|
fy jnat w`ywn
|
|
53. * |
Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other;
|
|
Wearing velvet and satin; close to each other.
|
|
يلبسون من سندس واستبرق متقابلين
|
|
ylbswn mn snds wastbrq mtqablyn
|
|
54. * |
So; and We shall join them to Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes.
|
|
We grant them wonderful spouses.
|
|
كذلك وزوجناهم بحور عين
|
|
kXlk wzwjnahm bHwr `yn
|
|
55. * |
There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security;
|
|
They enjoy in it all kinds of fruits, in perfect peace.
|
|
يدعون فيها بكل فاكهة امنين
|
|
yd`wn fyha bkl fakh+ amnyn
|
|
56. * |
Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,-
|
|
They do not taste death therein - beyond the first death - and He has spared them the retribution of Hell.
|
|
لايذقون فيها الموت الا الموتة الاولى ووقاهم عذاب الجحيم
|
|
layXqwn fyha almwt ala almwt+ alawli wwqahm `Xab aljHym
|
|
57. * |
As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement!
|
|
Such is the blessing from your Lord. Such is the great triumph.
|
|
فضلا من ربك ذلك هو الفوز العظيم
|
|
fDla mn rbk Xlk hw alfwz al`Zym
|
|
58. * |
Verily, We have made this (Qur'an) easy, in thy tongue, in order that they may give heed.
|
|
We have thus clarified it in your language, that they may take heed.
|
|
فانما يسرناه بلسانك لعلهم يتذكرون
|
|
fanma ysrnah blsank l`lhm ytXkrwn
|
|
59. * |
So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting.
|
|
Therefore, wait; they too will have to wait.
|
|
فارتقب انهم مرتقبون
|
|
fartqb anhm mrtqbwn
|
|
