By the break of Day
|
|
By the dawn.
|
|
سورة الفجر بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛـــــــ والفجر

swr+ alfjr bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ?_ walfjr
|
|
2. * |
By the Nights twice five;
|
|
And the ten nights.
|
|
وليال عشر
|
|
wlyal `$r
|
|
3. * |
By the even and odd (contrasted);
|
|
By the even and the odd.
|
|
والشفع والوتر
|
|
wal$f` walwtr
|
|
4. * |
And by the Night when it passeth away;-
|
|
By the night as it passes.
|
|
والليل اذا يسر
|
|
wallyl aXa ysr
|
|
5. * |
Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand?
|
|
A profound oath, for one who possesses intelligence.
|
|
هل في ذلك قسم لذي حجر
|
|
hl fy Xlk qsm lXy Hjr
|
|
6. * |
Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),-
|
|
Have you noted what your Lord did to `Aad?
|
|
الم تر كيف فعل ربك بعاد
|
|
alm tr kyf f`l rbk b`ad
|
|
7. * |
Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars,
|
|
Erum; the town with tall buildings.
|
|
ارم ذات العماد
|
|
arm Xat al`mad
|
|
8. * |
The like of which were not produced in (all) the land?
|
|
There was nothing like it anywhere.
|
|
التي لم يخلق مثلها في البلاد
|
|
alty lm yKlq mxlha fy alblad
|
|
9. * |
And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?-
|
|
Also Thamoud, who carved the rocks in their valley.
|
|
وثمود الذين جابوا الصخر بالواد
|
|
wxmwd alXyn jabwa alSKr balwad
|
|
10. * |
And with Pharaoh, lord of stakes?
|
|
And Pharaoh who possessed might.
|
|
وفرعون ذي الاوتاد
|
|
wfr`wn Xy alawtad
|
|
11. * |
(All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands,
|
|
They all transgressed in the land.
|
|
الذين طغوا في البلاد
|
|
alXyn TGwa fy alblad
|
|
12. * |
And heaped therein mischief (on mischief).
|
|
They spread evil throughout.
|
|
فاكثروا فيها الفساد
|
|
fakxrwa fyha alfsad
|
|
13. * |
Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements:
|
|
Consequently, your Lord poured upon them a whipping retribution.
|
|
فصب عليهم ربك سوط عذاب
|
|
fSb `lyhm rbk swT `Xab
|
|
14. * |
For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower.
|
|
Your Lord is ever watchful.
|
|
ان ربك لبالمرصاد
|
|

|
|
15. * |
Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me."
|
|
When the human being is tested by his Lord, through blessings and joy, he says, "My Lord is generous towards me."
|
|
فاما الانسان اذا ماابتلاه ربه فاكرمه ونعمه فيقول ربي اكرمن
|
|
fama alansan aXa maabtlah rbh fakrmh wn`mh fyqwl rby akrmn
|
|
16. * |
But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!"
|
|
But if He tests him through reduction in provisions, he says, "My Lord is humiliating me!"
|
|
واما اذا ماابتلاه فقدر عليه رزقه فيقول ربي اهانن
|
|
wama aXa maabtlah fqdr `lyh rzqh fyqwl rby ahann
|
|
17. * |
Nay, nay! but ye honour not the orphans!
|
|
Wrong! It is you who brought it on yourselves by not regarding the orphan.
|
|
كلا بل لاتكرمون اليتيم
|
|
kla bl latkrmwn alytym
|
|
18. * |
Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!-
|
|
And not advocating charity towards the poor.
|
|
ولاتحاضون على طعام المسكين
|
|
wlatHaDwn `li T`am almskyn
|
|
19. * |
And ye devour inheritance - all with greed,
|
|
And consuming the inheritance of helpless orphans.
|
|
وتاكلون التراث اكلا لما
|
|
wtaklwn altrax akla lma
|
|
20. * |
And ye love wealth with inordinate love!
|
|
And loving the money too much.
|
|
وتحبون المال حبا جما
|
|
wtHbwn almal Hba jma
|
|
21. * |
Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder,
|
|
Indeed, when the earth is crushed, utterly crushed.
|
|
كلا اذا دكت الارض دكا دكا
|
|
kla aXa dkt alarD dka dka
|
|
22. * |
And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank,
|
|
And your Lord comes, together with the angels in row after row.
|
|
وجاء ربك والملك صفا صفا
|
|
wja' rbk walmlk Sfa Sfa
|
|
23. * |
And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him?
|
|
On that day, Gehenna will be brought forth. On that day, the human being will remember - but what a remembrance - it will be too late.
|
|
وجيئ يومئذ بجهنم يومئذ يتذكر الانسان وانى له الذكرى
|
|
wjyY ywmYX bjhnm ywmYX ytXkr alansan wani lh alXkri
|
|
24. * |
He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!"
|
|
He will say, "Oh, I wish I prepared for my (eternal) life."
|
|
يقول ياليتني قدمت لحياتي
|
|
yqwl yalytny qdmt lHyaty
|
|
25. * |
For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict,
|
|
On that day, no retribution could be worse than His retribution.
|
|
فيومئذ لايعذب عذابه احد
|
|
fywmYX lay`Xb `Xabh aHd
|
|
26. * |
And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind.
|
|
And no confinement is as effective as His confinement.
|
|
ولايوثق وثاقه احد
|
|
wlaywxq wxaqh aHd
|
|
27. * |
(To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction!
|
|
As for you, O content soul.
|
|
ياايتها النفس المطمئنة
|
|
yaaytha alnfs almTmYn+
|
|
28. * |
"Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him!
|
|
Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing.
|
|
ارجعي الى ربك راضية مرضية
|
|
arj`y ali rbk raDy+ mrDy+
|
|
29. * |
"Enter thou, then, among My devotees!
|
|
Welcome into My servants.
|
|
فادخلي في عبادي
|
|
fadKly fy `bady
|
|
30. * |
"Yea, enter thou My Heaven!
|
|
Welcome into My Paradise.
|
|
وادخلي جنتي
|
|
wadKly jnty
|
